Mychaella Bowen from Greensboro, North Carolina Receives Renewable $10000 Scholarship to Attend the American Hebrew Academy

2013 Apr 5

The American Hebrew Academy, an international Jewish college prep boarding school, is proud to announce that Mychaella Bowen from Greensboro, North Carolina is the recipient of a renewable $10000 Honor Society Scholarship to attend the American Hebrew Academy, beginning in the fall of 2013. Mychaella is a tremendous young lady that excels in many areas. She is on B'nai Shalom's volleyball team and sings in their a cappella group. Mychaella plays tennis for a local club in Greensboro and is a Counselor in Training at Beth David Synagogue.

The American Hebrew Academy Honor Society, modeled after the National Honor Society, was established in 2009 to recognize exceptional 8th and 9th grade students who have demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics, the arts, leadership and service to their communities.

Sixty outstanding Jewish students from around the world were inducted into the Academy's prestigious Honor Society. However, only a select few were awarded one of the coveted scholarships to be used towards tuition to attend the Academy.

"Creating and managing the Academy's Honor Society has been the highlight of my personal and professional career," says Mark Spielman, Director of Recruitment at the Academy, and Director of the Honor Society. "These young people are truly extraordinary. The hardest part was narrowing down the list of students, as there were so many worthy candidates."

A heartfelt Mazal Tov to the following students and their families, who have won scholarships to attend the American Hebrew Academy:

Mychaella Bowen, Greensboro, NC

Ariel Nissan, Greensboro, NC

Jordana Ichilov, West Palm Beach, FL

Amanda Steinborn, Dallas, TX
